SPARSE, THINNING & OVERPLUCKED BROWS
What is the best brow product for sparse eyebrows?
What is the best brow product for sparse eyebrows?
First establish whether you’re missing hair, colour or both.
Start with a tinted brow mascara to reveal and define the hairs you already have. Then look again. If genuine gaps remain, use a brow pen to create fine, hair-like strokes only where they’re needed.
For larger sparse or hairless areas, a multi-stroke brow pen can help recreate the appearance of several natural hairs at once.
Kim’s tip: Don’t fill what doesn’t need filling. Some of the most natural-looking brows come from knowing where not to put product.

How can I make thin eyebrows look fuller naturally?
How can I make thin eyebrows look fuller naturally?
Think hair, not makeup.
Brush the brow into its natural position first, then add fine strokes following the direction the hairs actually grow. Avoid filling the entire brow with one solid colour. Leaving tiny spaces between strokes is what helps create the illusion of real hair.
And step back from the mirror as you work. Your brows need to look balanced with your whole face, not just close-up.
What should I use for overplucked brows or brows with very little hair?
What should I use for overplucked brows or brows with very little hair?
Where brow hair is very sparse, choose a product that can recreate the appearance of hair directly on the skin.
Rather than drawing an outline and filling it in, gradually rebuild the brow with fine strokes. A multi-stroke brow pen is particularly useful for larger areas of sparseness, while a precision brow pen can add finer detail.
Kim’s tip: Your first strokes should almost feel too light. You can always add more.

What is the easiest brow product for beginners?
What is the easiest brow product for beginners?
If you have natural brow hair, start with a tinted brow mascara.
It works with the brow you already have, adding colour, texture and definition without requiring you to create a completely new shape.
Once you’ve revealed your natural brow, you can see whether anything genuinely needs filling. If it does, introduce a fine pencil or a few carefully placed hair strokes.
What is the difference between a brow pen and a brow pencil?
What is the difference between a brow pen and a brow pencil?
Think of it this way:
A pencil creates shape and soft definition. A pen creates the illusion of hair.
If your brow is relatively full but needs more structure, a pencil may be enough. If you can see skin through the brow or have distinct gaps, a pen allows you to recreate individual hairs.
For many brows, the most natural result comes from combining both techniques selectively.
What’s the difference between Brow Boost and The Brow Blueprint®?
What’s the difference between Brow Boost and The Brow Blueprint®?
Both create hair-like strokes, but they perform different jobs.
Brow Boost Multi-Stroke Marker uses a triple-prong applicator to create several fine strokes at once, making it particularly useful for quickly rebuilding larger sparse or hairless areas.
The Brow Blueprint® is dual-ended and dual-tone, allowing you to combine complementary shades and different stroke sizes for greater precision and dimension.
Think Brow Boost for rebuilding; Brow Blueprint for detailing.
BROW COLOUR
How do I choose the right eyebrow colour?
How do I choose the right eyebrow colour?
Don’t choose your brow shade from your head hair alone.
Consider your natural brow hair, hair colour, skin tone and undertone together. The right shade should create believable definition without overpowering your face.
Natural brows aren’t one flat colour either. Subtle tonal variation can make a filled brow look considerably more realistic.

What eyebrow colour is best for grey or salt-and-pepper hair?
What eyebrow colour is best for grey or salt-and-pepper hair?
Don’t automatically match the darkest hair in your brow.
As hair becomes grey, silver or salt-and-pepper, an overly dark brow can sometimes look heavy. A softer neutral or cool-toned shade can create definition while remaining beautifully natural.
And don’t automatically remove grey or white brow hairs — they can still contribute valuable density and texture.
Why does my brow product look too warm or orange?
Why does my brow product look too warm or orange?
This is often an undertone issue, rather than simply choosing a colour that’s too dark.
Two brow products can appear similar in depth but behave very differently on the skin. If your brow colour repeatedly pulls orange or red, try a more neutral or ash-toned shade rather than simply choosing something lighter.

BROWS & AGEING
Do my brows need to change as I get older?
Do my brows need to change as I get older?
Brows evolve with us. You may notice changes in density, texture, colour or shape over time, but there isn’t one “correct” brow for every decade.
After working on more than 45,000 sets of brows, my advice is always to look at the brow in front of you rather than your age.
Reveal the hair you have, soften colour where necessary and replace only what’s missing.
Whether you’re in your 30s, 50s, 70s or beyond, the goal is the same: a brow that brings balance and definition to your face while still looking like you.
How can I make mature eyebrows look fuller without looking heavy?
How can I make mature eyebrows look fuller without looking heavy?
Start with the hair rather than the makeup.
Use a tinted brow mascara to define finer or lighter hairs before deciding what needs filling. Then add fine strokes only through genuine gaps.
Pay particular attention to colour and pressure. Softer definition and a little visible skin between strokes will usually look more natural than completely filling the brow.

The Brow Blueprint® — For recreating fine missing hairs and adding soft, realistic dimension without a heavily filled finish.

NATURAL-LOOKING BROWS
How do I fill my eyebrows without making them look drawn on?
How do I fill my eyebrows without making them look drawn on?
Don’t start by outlining the entire brow.
Brush the hairs into place, identify the areas that genuinely need more density and concentrate your product there. Keep the front of the brow particularly soft and gradually build definition towards the arch and tail.
Kim’s rule: Fill the gap, not the brow.
How do I create realistic hair strokes with a brow pen?
How do I create realistic hair strokes with a brow pen?
Think about three things: pressure, placement and direction.
Use featherlight pressure. Place strokes only where they’re needed. And follow the direction your natural hair grows rather than drawing identical vertical lines.
Slight variation in length, direction and placement is what makes artificial strokes look like real brow hairs.

How can I make uneven eyebrows look more symmetrical?
How can I make uneven eyebrows look more symmetrical?
Brows should feel balanced — they don’t need to be identical.
Identify the specific difference creating the imbalance. One brow may have a shorter tail, slightly lower arch or sparse area underneath.
Correct that individual area rather than redrawing both brows.
MICROBLADING & SEMI-PERMANENT BROWS
What brow products should I use with microbladed or semi-permanent brows?
What brow products should I use with microbladed or semi-permanent brows?
Once your brows are completely healed, makeup can add beautiful dimension and texture to semi-permanent brows.
Use tinted brow mascara through your natural hair to restore texture, and add fine brow-pen strokes through faded or sparse areas where extra dimension is needed.
Don’t automatically cover the entire tattoo with makeup. Ask yourself what’s missing — hair, colour, texture or definition — and add only that.
Can I use brow makeup after microblading?
Can I use brow makeup after microblading?
Not while the skin is healing.
Microblading and other semi-permanent brow treatments involve the skin, so always follow the aftercare instructions provided by your qualified brow professional and avoid applying brow makeup directly to the treated area until it has fully healed.
Once healed, brow makeup can be used to add colour, texture and definition where needed.

BROW PEN TROUBLESHOOTING
Why has my brow pen stopped working?
Why has my brow pen stopped working?
Before assuming it’s empty, clean the tip.
Brow pens have a fine, wet applicator that can pick up foundation, skincare, SPF and natural oils from the skin. This build-up can interrupt the flow of formula.
For the crispest strokes, apply your brow pen to clean, dry skin and regularly clean the applicator tip to help maintain product flow.
Kim’s tip: Brow pens perform best on clean, dry skin with featherlight pressure.

What is the secret to great brows?
Optimise what you have before adding what you don’t.
After more than 25 years as a Brow Master and over 45,000 brow transformations, it’s the principle I come back to again and again.
Start with the hair. Reveal it. Brush it. Understand your natural shape and see what you’re actually working with.
Then fill only what’s missing.
The best brows shouldn’t make somebody think great brow makeup.
They should simply think great brows.
